DAS and Goodlord launch new Rent and Legal Protection policy

3rd September 2019

DAS UK Group, the UK’s leading specialist legal expenses insurer, has partnered with property technology company Goodlord to launch a new Rent and Legal Protection policy for Goodlord customers.

As part of the collaboration, Goodlord will also be evolving its software platform to include a ground-breaking automated claims process.

DAS Insurance offers exceptional policy provisions and they understood our goal to simplify and improve the claims process. It was a no-brainer to enter into this exclusive partnership.

Oli Sherlock, Goodlord Head of Insurance

The new policy, which is immediately available to all Goodlord customers, covers:

  • Rent paid in full should the tenant fall into arrears;
  • Property damage cover;
  • Eviction of tenants or squatters along with legal proceedings;
  • 75% of rent paid after vacant possession for up to two months;
  • Legal expenses coverage of up to £100,000;
  • Contract dispute protection;
  • 24/7 support for agents and landlords via legal advice helpline.

Through this partnership, Goodlord has created a unique automated claims process that removes the administration and stress from insurance claims.

Communications to landlords will now be automated through the Goodlord platform, meaning landlords are automatically made aware when a policy is in place, how it works, and the details of the claims process.

We strongly believe in the Goodlord platform and the unique capabilities it offers to revolutionise the fulfilment of claims – this is a very significant launch.

Mickey Attia, DAS Head of New Business

Letting agents will also benefit from having all communications and materials delivered in their business branding.

Oli Sherlock, Head of Insurance at Goodlord, commented: “We want to offer Goodlord customers the best insurance provision on the market. DAS Insurance offers exceptional policy provisions and they understood our goal to simplify and improve the claims process.

“It was therefore a no-brainer to enter into this exclusive partnership with DAS and update our insurance offering across the Goodlord eco-system.”

Mickey Attia, Head of New Business at DAS UK Group, commented: “We’re excited by this exclusive partnership with Goodlord, through which we will provide letting agents and landlords with ground-breaking policies, protecting their investments, and reducing the hassle that can be associated with claims.

“We strongly believe in the Goodlord platform and the unique capabilities it offers to revolutionise the fulfilment of claims – this is a very significant launch.”
