Ongoing support to a federation of academies

As of January 2019, DAS Law has taken on 21 cases for the federation (8 discrimination; 7 unfair dismissals; 4 whistleblowing; 2 wage disputes), with 17 cases settled/won and 4 matters ongoing.

I have found their support invaluable, especially from the employment team, and they have assisted proactively in all our cases and their support to the federation has been excellent.

The nature of the work undertaken has ranged from some of the more simple wages disputes to very complex matters, including one matter that expanded over a period of 3 years including being referred to the Employment Appeal Tribunals (which the client achieved a very successful outcome including a costs award against the individual) and another high profile race discrimination claim.

Due to the involvement we have had with the federation we have been able to build a highly successful business relationship. We have been able to adapt our services to meet their specific needs, particularly as the HR resource like most schools, colleges and academies is under immense pressure.

I have personally found their support invaluable and they have always been available to provide advice and actively chase the federation to ensure we meet our legal obligations.

We have worked together to resolve any frustrations along the way, have provided pragmatic advice, as well as an empathetic approach. The relationship is very open and honest one on both sides.

We have provided additional support outside of the litigation field, including a HR audit and also provided training at their annual conference. It is a pleasure working alongside the federation, in what is a very busy and challenging environment for them.

They have also provided employment law update training to staff within the federation, which was extremely well received, and I would fully recommend their service.
